New England Gideon Convention…Remembering the Alamo!
In March of 2025, Rick was the Keynote speaker for the annual Northeast Gideon convention in Connecticut. He was invited because he was reached for Christ through the Gideon ministries (in front of the Alamo) and has been invited many times to share his testimony around the world, from New Zealand to the Hebrides Islands of Scotland as well as many state conventions in the USA. Rick, due to his respect and appreciation for the heart of the Gideon Ministry, has always been eager and willing to express his gratitude for their readiness to bring God’s Word to the lost and hurting world, whether that has been through Bible placement in hotels, street distributions or giving out Bibles in Schools around the world.
The Gideon’s international ministry is comprised of independent businessmen and professionals who have a heart for distributing God’s Word based on the promise from Isaiah 55:11, which says, “God’s Word will not return unto Him void, but will accomplish what He sends it to do.”
Rick says, “It has always amazed me to think that someone, somewhere gave a Gideon 50 cents in 1971 and that Gideon bought a little pocket New Testament that was given to me. At that time, I was a soldier, on the streets of San Antonio, TX, in the front of the Alamo. I was filled with bitterness and anger and emptiness and God used His Word that did not return void and Transformed my Life! And now, that 50 cents has taken the Gospel around the World and has allowed me to pray with thousands of people to receive Christ!! I would say that 50 cents was a good eternal investment.
